Evertrace first detected a signal of company formation for co-founder Pablo López García in January 2025. López García was building AILOS Robotics while working in machine-elements research at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The company emerged from the university's BruBotics group, bringing years of robotics research into a commercial business.
What they're building
A robot's joints need enough power to carry a load without making the machine heavy or difficult to move. For robots working near people, responsive movement also matters.
AILOS develops its R2poweR gearbox for applications such as humanoids, collaborative robots, exoskeletons and prosthetics. It combines high torque density with low resistance to movement, helping manufacturers build lighter and more responsive systems.
The round
QBIC and HTGF led the €3.5 million seed, with participation from Wallonie Entreprendre and finance&invest.brussels. The funding will support industrialisation, pilot projects with robot manufacturers and the move from laboratory development to production.
