Atlas Bio has raised $12.5m as it comes out of stealth: a $10m seed round led by Creandum and a previously undisclosed $2.5m pre-seed. The Swiss company builds an AI model to run clinical trials in silico.
Evertrace spotted Simon Romanski, co-founder of Atlas Bio, 790 days before the funding announcement.

On 28 August 2024, Evertrace detected a stealth signal for Simon Romanski. Simon was in stealth, working on something new. That was 790 days before Atlas Bio's funding announcement.
Simon Romanski founded Atlas Bio in 2024 with Sebastian Bayer.
What they’re building
Most drugs that enter clinical trials fail, and many studies still depend on animal testing. Atlas Bio is developing a foundation AI model trained on about 2 million RNA readouts from human tissue.
The model simulates how a drug behaves in each individual of a virtual patient cohort, to reduce the risk of Phase II trials and replace animal studies. A Basel-based biotech client has already skipped animal testing in one workflow based on its results.
The round
Creandum led the $10m seed round. First Momentum Ventures and LEA Partners led the earlier $2.5m pre-seed round. Atlas Bio will use the funding to grow its scientific and commercial teams, validate its platform further and bring on more enterprise clients.
