Evertrace first detected a signal of company formation for co-founder Tristan Foureur in December 2024. Foureur had previously co-founded WeMaintain. His move into CardNexus gave investors an experienced founder and a new consumer business to follow well before the pre-seed announcement.
What they're building
Collectors often keep their cards across spreadsheets, separate marketplaces and game-specific tools. That becomes harder to manage when a collection spans several games.
CardNexus lets people scan cards, track their collections and buy or sell through one platform. Its mobile scanner works offline, and the company supports games including Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and Sorcery: Contested Realm.
The round
Piton Capital led the €3.5 million pre-seed, joined by Motier, Financière St James, OPRTRS, Kima Ventures, Aquiti, F4 and angels. The funding will support more games, improved messaging and negotiation in the marketplace, and tools for developers and professional sellers.
