On 6 February 2026, Evertrace detected a stealth signal for Maex Ament. Maex was in stealth, working on something new. That was 130 days before Causa Prima's first funding announcement.
Maex Ament previously co-founded Taulia, which SAP acquired in 2022. Causa Prima's other co-founders are Henrik Gebbing and Philip Stanislaus. The company first announced funding on 16 June 2026, with a $10m pre-seed led by Creandum.
What they’re building
Finance teams spend a lot of time on email with suppliers and buyers about invoices, disputes and payment terms. Causa Prima builds an agent-to-agent network for B2B finance, where AI agents for buyers and suppliers handle invoice approvals, payment disputes and payments.
The agents also negotiate terms such as early-payment discounts, so finance teams do not manage these exchanges by hand.
The round
Base10 Partners led the $20m seed round, with QED Investors, FJ Labs, Creandum, Kfund and Borusan Ventures. Causa Prima will use the funding to expand in the US and develop the platform further.
