eyeo has raised €40 million in Series A funding. The Eindhoven-based company develops image sensors that guide incoming light to pixels instead of losing it through colour filters. Evertrace spotted a signal of company formation for co-founder Alden Carracillo 490 days earlier.

Evertrace first detected a signal of company formation for co-founder Alden Carracillo in January 2025. Carracillo brought experience from photonics and semiconductor companies, including EFFECT Photonics and onsemi. He was building eyeo as co-founder and COO as the team worked to take its imaging technology to market.
What they're building
Conventional image sensors use filters to separate colours, discarding light in the process. That creates a trade-off between sensor size and the quality of an image, especially in low light.
eyeo uses nanophotonic structures to split light into colours and direct it to the appropriate pixels. The company aims to integrate the approach into existing CMOS sensor platforms for applications including mobile devices, industrial imaging and XR.
The round
Innovation Industries led the €40 million Series A, joined by imec.xpand, Invest-NL Deep Tech Fund, QBIC, HTGF and BOM. The funding will grow eyeo's sensor design team, support new products and expand partnerships with device manufacturers.
