Evertrace first detected a signal of company formation for co-founder Alexander Dubois in June 2025. Dubois was building Fika with his brother Jakob after they had co-founded Gaff. Their experience of recruiting for their own business helped shape the idea for a different kind of hiring platform.
What they're building
A CV can miss how someone communicates, thinks or approaches a problem. Giving every applicant a conversation is difficult when an employer receives large numbers of applications.
Fika uses AI to make video-based conversations available at scale. Candidates can show more of themselves, while employers gain another way to understand the people they might hire.
The round
Luminar Ventures led the $4 million pre-seed, with participation from Alliance VC and other investors. The round supports Fika's work on a hiring platform centred on conversations, as the company moves from building quietly towards a broader launch.
