Evertrace first detected a signal of company formation for co-founder Alexander Schult in October 2024. Schult was helping build Peak Quantum alongside a founding team with roots in the Walther-Meißner-Institute and Technical University of Munich. The signal connected a named founder to a new quantum hardware company before this financing announcement.
What they're building
Quantum processors are sensitive to errors, and making them reliable can require substantial additional hardware. Peak Quantum is developing a processor architecture that tackles part of that problem at the qubit level.
The team combines chip design, fabrication and experience operating quantum systems. It is working to turn that research into processors that can be produced and integrated into practical quantum computers.
The round
Cloudberry Ventures led the €2.2 million pre-seed, joined by United Founders, QAI Ventures and angels. The funding supports processor development and a European pilot production facility. Including public support, Peak Quantum's total financing exceeded €5 million at the announcement.
