On 7 June 2026, Evertrace detected the first signal of company formation for Mathieu Rabaey. That was 123 days before SpectaCell's funding announcement.
Mathieu Rabaey is part of the founding team with Tony Montoye, Veronique De Vroey and Jan Van de Velde.
What they’re building
Developers of cell therapies need to see how individual cells behave and interact. SpectaCell combines chip-based imaging with data analysis to track large numbers of individual cells and their interactions, without labels.
It is developing a cartridge-based instrument that aims to give results in hours, for cell therapies and T-cell engagers.
The round
imec.xpand led the €6m seed round, with PMV Flanders Future Tech Fund, InnovationQuarter Capital, Qbic and VIB. SpectaCell will use the funding to develop its platform further and bring it to market with pharma and biotech partners.
